Thames Water’s proposed South East Strategic Reservoir Option (SESRO) may affect many of our clients, with the proposed site covering an area of around 4,500 hectares between Abingdon, Steventon, Grove and Garford. If the reservoir is consented, it is intended that early works begin as soon as 2027, with construction being complete in 2043.
The public consultation is now live, until 13th January 2026, with Thames Water asking for the public’s input. This can be done using the following links:

We would strongly encourage anyone in the area to fill in this consultation, as this proposal will have long-lasting effects on the whole area, not just those with land taken.
If you are within or near to the site boundary and have any concerns, please speak to a member of the WebbPaton team on 01793 842055. Our fees to act on your behalf are usually paid for by Thames Water.
