The new Farming Investment Fund is now open, providing grant aid for farmers to improve their productivity and benefit the environment. The fund is based on the previous Countryside Productivity Grant Schemes and is made up of two separate funds:
Farming Equipment and Technology Fund
Farmers can apply for between £2,000 and £25,000 to buy new equipment and technology from a list of 120 items. Applications can be made until 7th January 2022 and items include stock handling systems, weighing equipment, forestry equipment, heat detection equipment and direct drills.
The Farming Transformation Fund
This fund offers larger grants of between £35,000 and £500,000 for investments making greater changes to farm performance. The funding is being offered in successive waves with the first being water management to support reservoirs and irrigation systems. Applications will be in a two stage process, with the initial on-line proposal check closing on the 12th January 2022.
